Today’s face: Yana, inspired by Sktchy. Drawn in a Moleskine sketchbook with a Unipin pen and Copic markers and (fanfare) Copic White.

Yes, I finally got some Copic White so I’m not having to try to persuade a gel pen or gouache to try to produce the appearance of white (they really don’t like doing this) over Copic markers. So I still have to work on getting to grips with understanding how much water to add to Copic White to get the right degree of dilution but, for a first try with it, I’m happy enough. I know I can now get a white colour! Hooray.

Lots of mistakes in this portrait too. I was pushed for time today. It’s been a busy and stressful week and it’s showing in my drawing. But I’m glad I kept drawing going and didn’t give up on the portrait but worked with the mistakes and finished up with a portrait I’m happy enough with and learned some useful lessons from the mistakes.
