Today’s face: Mômette, inspired by Sktchy.

I had an initial gasp of frustration on seeing another black and white photo as the suggested face for today’s Sktchy 30 Faces 30 Days Challenge portrait. But then I read today’s tip from artist Chantal Vincent, suggesting that a useful exercise was to draw from a high contrast B&W photo using our own ideas of colour on some of the shaded areas but leaving other areas uncoloured. But I couldn’t cope with the fuzziness of today’s suggested photo so I went with Mômette’s instead. I like how it turned out but I’m still not converted to the idea that drawing from B&W photos is fun!

Drawn in a Midori Cotton sketchbook using a Micron 005 pen and Copic markers.
