My watercolour sketchbookPosted: January 29, 2018
I finished my first watercolour sketchbook today. I’m very proud of this sketchbook. I’m very much a beginner with watercolour so when I started it last June it was going to be a general sketchbook but, as you’ll see if you watch the video, I soon began to use it mostly for portraits. What you’ll also see is I really didn’t have a clue what I was doing at the start but as time progressed I gradually improved, my skill level grew and I developed a style similar to my Copic style.
I’m so proud of this Sketchbook because as I look through it I can see how my skills developed with practice, how I learned how to manipulate the paint and gained an understanding of how it worked, and so my portraits improved. I love looking at the last few portraits and comparing them with the first few to see what I’ve learned. Practice, practice, practice every day and it pays off. 🙂
If you want a slower look at the sketchbook I’ve uploaded a longer video with commentary on my YouTube channel here.
