Mariam

Today’s face: Mariam, inspired by Sktchy.

Drawn in a Moleskine sketchbook with a Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer coloured pencil.

Brittany

Today’s face: Brittany, inspired by Sktchy and today’s Sktchy subscription daily tip.

Drawn in a Seawhites sketchbook using a Cretacolor Graphite Aquarell HB Pencil and water.

Erik

Today’s face: Erik, inspired by Sktchy. Today’s Sktchy subscription daily tip was about drawing in pen with no pencil under drawing so this portrait was done entirely in pen, with no erasing.

Drawn in a Seawhites sketchbook with a variety of Micron pens, Faber-Castell Pitt artist pens, a Pentel brush pen, a white Signo uniball pen and a blue Zig watercolour brush pen.

Luke

Today’s face: Luke, inspired by Sktchy. Time poor today so only a quick pencil sketch in Procreate. But today’s Sktchy subscription tip is to focus on the nose so that’s what I was doing here. Can you tell?

Drawn on an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil using the Procreate app.

Vanessa

Today’s face: Vanessa, inspired by Sktchy. This portrait brings together so much of what I’ve learned so far from the Sktchy subscription. Keeping it loose, going with strong shapes, hatching, layering colour, just trying to keep my pen (or Apple Pencil in this case) moving and thinking about the shapes and mood I’m trying to convey. And this was a very quick sketch for me in Procreate – so happy with how much I’ve learned.

Amanda

Today’s face: Amanda, inspired by Sktchy and today’s Sktchy subscription daily tip.

Drawn in a Leuchtthurm 1917 sketchbook with a Micron 01 pen and Copic markers and edited digitally on an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil using the Procreate app.

Jonathan

Today’s face: Jonathan, inspired by Sktchy. I wasn’t feeling well yesterday and resisted drawing this, which was yesterday’s Sktchy subscription face, using illness as my excuse. I’m still unwell today but also know that when I’m resisting a daily tip, that’s when I should try it. Also turns out that simple white on black is just the kind of meditative drawing my crushing, vomiting migraine can cope with.

Rachel

Today’s face: Rachel, inspired by Sktchy. Rachel is today’s face for the Sktchy subscription, which is now only £4.49 a month!

Drawn in a Moleskine watercolour sketchbook with a Micron 01 pen and painted with Zecchi Toscana watercolours.

Helen

Today’s face: Helen, inspired by Sktchy.

Drawn in a Midori Cotton sketchbook with a Micron 01 pen and Copic markers.

Sebastian

Today’s face: Sebastian, inspired by Sktchy. I’ve been on holiday for the past week and this is the longest time I’ve been away from my Copics since I started drawing portraits more than 2 years ago. I’ve been drawing every day, but urban sketching, not portraiture, so it’s so good to get back both to my beloved Copics and to my comfort zone of drawing faces!

Drawn in a Midori Cotton sketchbook with Micron 005 and 01 pens and Copic markers.
