Today’s Sktchy subscription tip from Benjamin Zayas was about experimenting with abandoning the rules we set ourselves in our drawing practice- so today I didn’t follow my usual rule of drawing with pencil, going over it with a pen outline and then erasing the pencil underdrawing. Instead I left the pencil lines in and worked with those. I’m not convinced that the finished portrait really works – I think Copics need ink lines – but I enjoyed the experimentation.
Drawn in a Leuchtthurm 1917 sketchbook with a Blackwing 602 pencil and Copic markers.
