Ted

Today’s face: Ted, inspired by Sktchy. I thought I already focused on value but Margriet Aasmans’s daily tip today, to look for shapes in value rather than looking for what you expect to see, pushed me to concentrate so much more on hatching and shadow and made such a difference to the end result!

Koray & Bobbie

Today’s face: Koray, inspired by Sktchy. I used today’s daily tip for the Sktchy subscription to guide my process when making this process. The tip, provided by artist Margriet Aasman, was to work on a page pre-painted with acrylic paint and to use the pre-painted surface as an inspiration for your creative decisions. I couldn’t find any acrylic paint but I did have some ink to paint my sketchbook book page with. I really enjoyed working on this and I love how it made me think differently about my process.

I drew a second Sktchy face, Bobbie, on my iPad Pro using the same daily tip.
