Today’s face: Shelma, inspired by Sktchy. This is today’s “The Daily” inspiration photo on Sktchy.

Drawn in a Laloran sketchbook with a Unipin fineliner, painted with Zecchi Toscana watercolours and finished with Prismacolor coloured pencils.

Today’s face: Igor, inspired by Sktchy. This is today’s Sktchy Mindful March inspiration photo. I started drawing it early this morning before going to work thinking I could finish it this afternoon – but I ended up spending all afternoon at the animal hospital dealing with a pet emergency. So I’m not feeling very mindful at all and this is looking very half finished but at least I’m posting something- and my dog is going to be fine (though I’m £200 poorer).

Drawn on an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil using the Procreate app.

Today’s face: Jaymes, inspired by Sktchy. I’ve been experimenting with digital pastels this past week and doing something I never normally do – a tonal under drawing. I do it very quickly and use it as a base layer for my portrait. I know lots of artists do this but I’ve always been too lazy but then I saw Fatima Pantoja do it on the Sky Portrait Artist of the Year TV show and decided to try it. Jaymes is today’s Sktchy inspiration for The Daily and Mindful March and, since the photo is a black and white one, it inspiration seemed like a great opportunity to just do the quick tonal portrait.

Today’s face: Jeff, inspired by Sktchy. Sktchy currently post a daily inspiration photograph for members of their subscription programme to draw as an optional challenge. This is the first time I’ve taken up that challenge, partly because I love drawing Jeff’s wonderful face.

Drawn in a Fabriano watercolour sketchbook with a Pelikan m200 fountain pen and painted with Jackson’s artist watercolours.
