Drawn in a Zecchi Diario di Viaggio sketchbook with a Micron 01 pen and painted with Zecchi Toscana watercolours.

This was the last portrait in my small Zecchi sketchbook and I’ve uploaded a flip through of that sketchbook to my YouTube channel. It’s very short (less than 2 minutes). If you’d like to take a look you can find it here.

Binx

Today’s face is Binx the Minx, my beautiful rescue dog. He was only possible portrait I could draw today. He was euthanased yesterday after a scan showed aggressive cancers on both his kidneys. He’d already had surgery last week for what we then thought was a one-off tumour on his head, but he became progressively more unwell following that surgery.

Binx was a rescue dog. We adopted him from the Dogs Trust in Shoreham in 2008. Over those 10 years he was always a joy, sometimes a devil, bursting with character. I’m so grateful to the Dogs Trust for introducing us to him and to Grove Lodge Veterinary Group for looking after his veterinary care, especially over the past couple of weeks. ❤️💔
